Ingredients

– 1 cup warm milk (about 40-45 °C)
– 2 tablespoons sugar
– 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
– 2 cups plain flour
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 2 tablespoons butter, melted
– 1/4 cup chia seeds
– 1/2 cup water
– 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)

Method

1. First, mix warm milk with sugar and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
2. In another bowl, combine the flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture along with melted butter.
3. Soak chia seeds in water for about 10 minutes. Then, stir chia seeds into the dough mixture.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for around 5 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl and cover with a cloth. Allow rising for 1 hour.
5. Shape the dough into small balls, twist them, and place on a baking tray. Brush with beaten egg. Bake at 180 °C for 15-20 minutes until golden.
