Method
1. Begin by cooking the pasta according to package instructions until it’s al dente.
2. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, letting the mixture simmer.
4. Mix in the cooked pasta, fresh basil, and water. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated.
5. Serve hot, topped with grated cheese.
