Ingredients
– 250 ml boiling water
– 125 g unsweetened cocoa powder
– 2 cups plain flour
– 2 cups granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 2 large eggs
– 250 ml buttermilk
– 125 ml vegetable oil
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease and line a large baking tray.
2. Mix the boiling water and cocoa powder in a bowl until smooth. Set it aside to cool.
3. In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
4. Add the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Blend everything together until well combined.
5. Stir in the cocoa mixture. Pour the batter into the prepared tray and bake for about 30 minutes.
