Ingredients
- 1 bunch Swiss chard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked quinoa (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (optional)
Method
- Rinse the Swiss chard under running water to clean it. Shake off excess moisture.
- Chop the stems and leaves into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for about 1 minute.
- Add the chopped chard stems first. Cook for about 3 minutes, then add the leaves. Stir until the leaves wilt.
- Stir in lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper. If desired, add Parmesan and nuts before serving. Enjoy!
