Ingredients
– 500g minced beef
– 250g minced pork
– 1 cup breadcrumbs
– 1/2 cup milk
– 1 small onion, finely chopped
– 1 tsp garlic powder
– 1 tsp ground nutmeg
– 1 egg
– Salt to taste
– Pepper to taste
Method
1. In a large bowl, combine the minced beef, minced pork, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic powder, nutmeg, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well blended.
2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, roughly the size of a golf ball. Place them on a tray as you go.
3. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add a little oil and cook the meatballs until they are browned on all sides. This usually takes about 8 to 10 minutes.
4. Remove the meatballs from the pan and set them aside. In the same pan, add a bit of flour to create a thickening paste and slowly whisk in 1 cup of beef broth to make a sauce.
5. Return the meatballs to the pan and let them simmer in the sauce for an additional 10 minutes. Serve hot.
