Ingredients
– 500 g bread flour (about 4 cups)
– 350 ml water (room temperature)
– 100 g sourdough starter (fed)
– 50 g sugar (about ¼ cup)
– 1 tsp salt
– 200 g mixed dried fruit (or any favorite dried fruit)
– 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
– 30 g butter (melted)
– 1 egg (for egg wash)
Method
1. Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Mix well.
2. In another bowl, stir together the water and sourdough starter until combined.
3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix until a rough dough forms, then knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.
4. Add the dried fruit and melted butter. Knead until everything is fully incorporated.
5. Place the dough in a bowl and cover it with a cloth. Let it rise for about 2-3 hours, or until it doubles in size.
