Ingredients
– 8 slices of bread
– 4 large eggs
– 300 ml milk
– 80 g brown sugar
– 1 tbsp vanilla extract
– 1 tsp ground cinnamon
– 50 g raisins
– 1 tbsp butter
– Maple syrup (for serving)
– Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a large baking dish with butter.
2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until combined.
3. Cut the bread into quarters and arrange them in a single layer in the baking dish. Sprinkle raisins on top.
4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread. Let it soak for about 10 minutes.
5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the bread is golden. Serve warm with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.
