Ingredients
- 1 kg potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 300 ml cream
- 300 ml milk
- 60 g butter
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Grease a baking dish with butter. Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
3. Spread half of the chopped onion over the potatoes. Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and pepper on top.
4. Pour half the cream and milk mixture over the layers. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and onions.
5. Top with remaining cream and milk. Add cheese, paprika, and parsley. Bake for about 1 hour or until the potatoes are soft and the top is golden brown.
