Delicious Saag Aloo Recipe: A Flavorful Spinach And Potato Dish

Ingredients

– 2 cups potatoes, peeled and chopped
– 1 tablespoon oil
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
– 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 3 cups spinach, fresh or frozen
– 1 teaspoon salt
– ½ teaspoon chili powder

Method

1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
2. Stir in the chopped onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional minute.
3. Mix in the turmeric, salt, and chili powder. Then, add the chopped potatoes, stirring to coat them well with the spices.
4. Pour in enough water to just cover the potatoes. Cover the pan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
5. Add the spinach and cook for another 5 minutes until it is wilted and everything is heated through.
