Ingredients
– 200 g unsalted butter, softened
– 100 g icing sugar
– 300 g plain flour
– 2 tablespoons cornstarch
– 1 tablespoon rose water
– Pinch of salt
– Extra icing sugar for dusting
– Edible rose petals (optional)
Method
1. Start by preheating the oven to 160°C (320°F) and line a baking tray with baking paper.
2. In a medium bowl, cream the softened butter and icing sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
3. Gradually add the flour, cornstarch, rose water, and salt. Mix until everything combines into a dough.
4. Roll the dough into small balls, then flatten each ball slightly and place them on the prepared baking tray.
5. Bake for about 15 minutes or until the cookies are lightly golden. Let them cool before dusting with more icing sugar and adding rose petals.
