Ingredients

– 400 g black beans, canned
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 small onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon ground cumin
– ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
– ½ teaspoon salt
– ¼ teaspoon black pepper
– 60 ml vegetable broth
– Lime wedges, for serving

Method

1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
3. Stir in the minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another minute.
4. Add the black beans and vegetable broth. Mash the beans with a fork or potato masher until desired texture is reached.
5. Serve warm with lime wedges on the side.
