Ingredients
– 250 ml vegetable oil
– 250 ml buttermilk
– 2 large eggs
– 2 tsp vanilla extract
– 500 g all-purpose flour
– 400 g sugar
– 2 tbsp cocoa powder
– 1 tsp baking soda
– 1 tsp salt
– 1 tbsp red food coloring
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C. Grease two round cake pans with oil and dust with flour.
2. Mix together vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Use a whisk until it’s well combined.
3. In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir these dry ingredients together.
4. Combine the wet and dry mixtures, then add the red food coloring. Beat until everything is well mixed and smooth.
5. Divide the batter evenly between the cake pans. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
