Ingredients
- 500 g strong white bread flour
- 7 g instant yeast
- 10 g salt
- 300 ml warm water
- 25 ml vegetable oil
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Method
- Combine the flour, yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add warm water and vegetable oil to the mixture. Stir until dough begins to form.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour, until it doubles in size.
- Shape the dough into a plaited loaf, place it on a baking tray, and brush the top with beaten egg. Bake at 200°C for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
