Ingredients

  • 3 medium cucumbers, sliced

  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh dill or parsley (for garnish)

Method

1. Start by washing the cucumbers thoroughly. Slice them into rounds or half-moons depending on your preference.
2. Combine onions and cucumbers in a large bowl. This will help to evenly mix everything later.
3. In a separate pot, mix vinegar, water, sugar, salt, mustard seeds, and black peppercorns. Bring the mix to a boil over medium heat. Stir until the sugar and salt dissolve.
4. Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the cucumbers and onions. Make sure all pieces are well covered with the liquid.
5. Let the mixture cool to room temperature. After that, cover and place it in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving. Garnish with dill or parsley if desired.
