Narthangai Curry – Sweet and Sour Citron Fruit Curry
Ingredients
500 g citrons, chopped
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
2 dried red chilies
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp jaggery or brown sugar
200 ml water
Salt, to taste
Fresh coriander, for garnishing
Method
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Incorporate urad dal and dried red chilies, frying until golden brown.
Stir in turmeric powder and chopped citrons.
Pour in water, season with salt, and add jaggery. Let it simmer until the citrons are soft.
