Ingredients
– 1 small head of cabbage, chopped (about 4 cups)
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
– 1 teaspoon urad dal (split black gram)
– 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 green chili, chopped (adjust to taste)
– 1/4 cup grated coconut
– Salt, to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish (optional)
Method
1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan on medium heat.
2. Add the mustard seeds and urad dal; cook until the seeds start to pop.
3. Stir in the chopped green chili and turmeric powder, cooking for about 30 seconds.
4. Add the chopped cabbage and salt, cooking for 5-7 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.
5. Mix in the grated coconut and cook for another 2 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves if using.
