Ingredients
– 1 cup of maple syrup
– 1 cup of brown sugar
– 1 cup of milk
– 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
– 4 tablespoons of cornstarch
– 2 tablespoons of melted butter
– 1/4 teaspoon of salt
– 1 prepared pie crust
– 1 cup of chopped pecans
– Whipped cream for serving (optional)
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
2. In a saucepan, combine maple syrup, brown sugar, milk, and salt. Stir until it’s well mixed.
3. Mix cornstarch and a little water in a small bowl, then add to the saucepan. Cook on medium heat while stirring until it thickens.
4. Once thick, take it off the heat. Add vanilla extract and melted butter, then mix in the chopped pecans.
5. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust and bake for 45 minutes. Allow cooling before serving. Top with whipped cream if desired.
