Ingredients
1 cup basmati rice
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups vegetable broth
1 cup frozen peas
Salt, to taste

Method
1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps to remove excess starch.
2. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes soft and translucent.
3. Stir in the minced garlic, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon. Cook for an additional minute until the spices are fragrant.
4. Add the rinsed rice to the pan, stirring to coat the rice with the spices and oil. Pour in the vegetable broth and season with salt.
5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Once cooked, add the frozen peas and fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
