Ingredients
- 250 g self-raising flour
- 125 ml milk
- 60 ml maple syrup
- 90 g cooked bacon, chopped
- 90 g shredded cheddar cheese
- 60 g cold butter, cubed
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 220°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
2. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder together.
3. Add the cold butter to the bowl and rub it into the flour with your fingers until it resembles fine crumbs.
4. Stir in the bacon, cheddar cheese, milk, and maple syrup until just combined.
5. Shape the mixture into 8 biscuits and place them on the prepared tray. Brush the tops with beaten egg and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
