Ingredients
1 kg potatoes, peeled and chopped
120 ml milk
60 g butter
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup spring onions, sliced
Method
1. Begin by boiling the potatoes in a large pot of salted water. Cook them until tender, which should take around 15-20 minutes.
2. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them until smooth.
3. Stir in the milk, butter, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper for flavor. Mix well until creamy.
4. Add cooked bacon, shredded cheese, sour cream, and spring onions into the potato mixture. Combine everything thoroughly.
5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and refrigerate if preparing ahead. When ready to serve, bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes.
