Maharashtrian Dinkache Ladoo Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup edible gum
½ cup ghee
1 cup jaggery, grated
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
½ cup chopped nuts (mix of almonds, cashews, and walnuts)
¼ cup dried fruit (raisins or chopped dates)
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Method
Start by heating ghee in a pan over low heat. Add the edible gum and fry until it puffs up.
Next, add the whole wheat flour to the pan. Stir continuously for around 10 minutes until it turns a light golden color.
Remove the mixture from heat. Combine jaggery and cardamom powder while the mixture is still warm. Stir until everything is well mixed.
Fold in the chopped nuts, dried fruit, poppy seeds, and sesame seeds. Mix thoroughly so all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Shape the mixture into small balls after allowing it to cool slightly. Make sure they are firm and hold their shape.
