Delicious Karwar Surana Bhaji: Hot And Sour Yam Recipe

Ingredients

– 400 g yam, peeled and sliced
– 2 tablespoons oil
– 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 2 tablespoons tamarind paste
– 2 teaspoons jaggery, grated
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder
– Salt to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Method

1. Begin by boiling the sliced yam in water until it becomes tender. Drain and set aside.

2. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Cook until they start to splutter.

3. Stir in the turmeric powder, tamarind paste, jaggery, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to combine the spices.

4. Add the boiled yam into the pan. Toss gently to coat the yam evenly with the spice mixture.

5. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
