Delicious Kakrar Jhal: Authentic Bengali Crab Korma Recipe

Ingredients

– 500 g crab
– 2 tbsp mustard oil
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
– 2 green chillies, slit
– 1 tsp cumin powder
– 1 tsp coriander powder
– 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
– 1/2 cup coconut milk
– Salt to taste

Method

1. Start by cleaning the crab under running water, then cut it into halves or quarters.
2. Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat and add the chopped onion. Sauté until golden brown.
3. Mix in the ginger-garlic paste and green chillies, cooking for a few minutes until fragrant.
4. Add cumin, coriander, turmeric powder, and salt. Stir the spices well before adding the crab pieces. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Pour in the coconut milk and simmer the mixture for an additional 10 minutes or until the crab is cooked through.
