Ingredients
– 1 cup Israeli couscous
– 2 cups vegetable broth
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 small onion, chopped
– 1 cup grated cheese
– 1 egg
– 1 cup breadcrumbs
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– Salt, to taste
– Pepper, to taste
Method
1. Begin by heating olive oil in a saucepan. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft.
2. Pour in Israeli couscous and stir for a couple of minutes. Add vegetable broth and bring everything to a boil.
3. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the couscous is tender. Remove from heat and let it cool.
4. Once cooled, combine cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix this with the couscous until well-blended.
5. Shape the mixture into small balls. Roll each ball in breadcrumbs. Fry in hot oil until golden brown on all sides.
