Ingi Mangai Sadam Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup raw rice
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon split urad dal
1 teaspoon chana dal
1 teaspoon grated ginger
2 green chilies, chopped
1 cup raw mango, chopped
2 cups water
Salt to taste
Method
1. Rinse the raw rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Once hot, add mustard seeds and wait until they pop.
3. Add the urad dal and chana dal to the pot. Sauté them until they turn golden brown.
4. Stir in the grated ginger and chopped green chilies. Cook for a minute before adding the chopped mango.
5. Add the rice, water, and salt. Stir well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until rice is cooked, about 15-20 minutes.
