Ingredients
1 cup semolina
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
4 tablespoons ghee (or butter)
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
1/4 cup mixed nuts (such as almonds and cashews)
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon saffron strands (optional)
1/4 cup coconut flakes (optional)
Method
1. Start by heating the ghee in a large pan over medium heat.
2. Add the semolina and toast until it turns golden brown while stirring continuously.
3. Pour in the water and mix in the sugar. Keep stirring until it thickens.
4. Incorporate the cardamom, nuts, raisins, and saffron if using. Mix well and cook for a few more minutes.
5. Finally, add milk for creaminess and mix until fully combined. Serve warm or at room temperature.
