Ingredients
200 g self-raising flour
400 g sugar
75 g unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
240 ml buttermilk
120 ml vegetable oil
2 large eggs
240 ml boiling water
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease two round cake pans.
2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Whisk in buttermilk, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
4. Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is combined.
5. Pour the batter evenly into the cake pans and bake for about 30 minutes.
