Ingredients
– 1 whole ham (around 2.5 kg)
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1 cup honey
– 1 cup orange juice
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
– 1 teaspoon ground cloves
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/2 cup of water
– Whole cloves (for decoration)
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 160 degrees Celsius. Make sure the rack is in the middle of the oven.
2. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern. Space the cuts about 5 cm apart for a better glaze.
3. In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, honey, orange juice, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, cinnamon, and black pepper until smooth.
4. Place the ham in a roasting pan. Pour the glaze over the ham, making sure to cover it well. Add water to the bottom of the pan to keep it moist.
5. Bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Baste the ham every 20 minutes with the glaze to keep it juicy.
