Ingredients
– 500 g all-purpose flour
– 2 tbsp baking powder
– 1 tsp salt
– 60 g unsalted butter, cold and cubed
– 240 ml buttermilk
– 60 ml honey
– 1 egg, for brushing on top
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 220°C.
2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
3. Cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles small crumbs.
4. Stir in buttermilk and honey until the mixture forms a soft dough.
5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface, cut into circles, and place on a baking tray. Brush the tops with beaten egg. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden.
