Ingredients
– 500 g fresh jalapeños
– 1 cup white vinegar
– 1 cup water
– 2 tablespoons sugar
– 1 tablespoon salt
– 2 cloves garlic, smashed
– 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
– 1 teaspoon oregano
Method
1. Start by washing the jalapeños. Slice them into rings and remove the seeds if you prefer less heat.
2. In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
3. Add the garlic, black peppercorns, and oregano once boiling. Stir well and let the ingredients cook for about one minute.
4. Place the sliced jalapeños in a clean jar. Carefully pour the hot liquid over the jalapeños until they are completely covered.
5. Allow the jar to cool. Once cooled, seal it and store the jalapeños in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before enjoying.
