Ingredients
- 1 litre of vodka
- 6 lemons
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 cups of water
Method
- Wash lemons well and use a vegetable peeler to remove the yellow zest. Avoid the white pith as it can make the drink bitter.
- Place the lemon zest in a large jar and pour in the vodka. Seal the jar and let it sit in a cool place for about 2-4 weeks. Shake it gently every few days.
- After the waiting period, mix together the sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat it on the stove until the sugar dissolves completely, then let it cool.
- Strain the lemon zest and vodka mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl. Discard the zest.
- Combine the cooled sugar syrup with the strained vodka. Bottle it up and store in the fridge. Enjoy!
