Ingredients
– 1 cup water
– 1 cup sugar
– 1 cup cocoa powder
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– Cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Method
1. In a medium saucepan, combine water and sugar, stirring over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
2. Add the cocoa powder and salt to the mixture. Whisk until completely smooth.
3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Keep stirring to prevent the chocolate from sticking to the bottom.
4. Once it thickens to your liking, remove it from heat. If you want it thicker, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with a bit of water, then add it in while heating.
5. Lastly, add vanilla extract. Allow it to cool before transferring to a jar for storage.
