Arrabbiata Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
450 g (about 1 lb) penne pasta
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt to taste
Fresh basil leaves, for serving
Grated parmesan cheese, for serving
Method
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Add garlic and red pepper flakes, then sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes and sugar. Stir well and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
Season with salt to your taste while the sauce cooks.
Toss the cooked pasta with the sauce. Garnish with fresh basil and cheese before serving.
