Delicious Heart-Shaped Linzer Cookies With Jam Recipe Guide

Ingredients

– 250 g plain flour
– 125 g unsalted butter, softened
– 100 g icing sugar
– 1 egg yolk
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 100 g jam (your favorite flavor)
– Icing sugar for dusting
– Optional: Sprinkles for decoration

Method

1. Start by preheating the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with baking paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and icing sugar. Cream them together until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
3. Add the egg yolk, vanilla extract, and salt into the bowl. Mix everything until well combined.
4. Gradually add the plain flour, stirring until a dough forms. Once ready, wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
5. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 5 mm thick. Cut out heart shapes, making a hole in the center of half of them. Bake for 8-10 minutes, then let them cool completely before spreading jam on the solid hearts and adding the cut-out tops. Dust with icing sugar and add sprinkles if desired.
