Delicious Hashweh Rice Recipe: A Middle Eastern Delicacy

Ingredients

– 2 cups of long grain rice
– 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
– 1 large onion, finely chopped
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 500g of ground beef or lamb
– 1 teaspoon of allspice
– 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
– 4 cups of chicken or beef broth
– Salt, to taste
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Method

1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is soft.
3. Stir in the ground beef or lamb and cook until it browns completely. Mix in the allspice and cinnamon.
4. Add the rice to the pot, then pour in the broth. Season with salt, and bring the mixture to a boil.
5. Reduce heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is soft and the liquid has absorbed. Garnish with parsley before serving.
