Ingredients
– 2 cups diced ham
– 1 can (400 g) white beans, drained and rinsed
– 1 large onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 3 carrots, sliced
– 2 celery sticks, diced
– 4 cups chicken broth
– 1 teaspoon dried thyme
– 1 bay leaf
– Salt and pepper to taste
Method
1. Start by heating a large pot over medium heat. Add the diced ham and cook until it starts to brown.
2. Toss in the chopped onion, garlic, carrots, and celery. Sauté these vegetables for about 5 minutes until they become soft.
3. Pour in the chicken broth, then add the white beans, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together well.
4. Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat. Let it simmer for around 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
5. After simmering, remove the bay leaf. Serve the soup hot in bowls, garnishing if desired.
