Ingredients
– 400 g ivy gourds
– 2 tablespoons oil
– 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 tablespoon split chana dal
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder
– 2 tablespoons grated coconut
– Salt to taste
– Coriander leaves for garnish
Method
1. Rinse the ivy gourds and cut them in half lengthwise to create little boats.
2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Wait for them to pop, then add cumin seeds and chana dal.
3. Stir in turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well before adding the grated coconut.
4. Stuff each ivy gourd half with the spicy coconut mixture.
5. Cook the stuffed gourds in the pan with a lid for about 10 minutes, turning them occasionally until tender.
