Delicious Gongura Chicken Curry Recipe: Authentic Andhra Style

Ingredients

– 500 g chicken, cut into pieces
– 200 g gongura leaves (sorrel leaves)
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1 onion, chopped
– 2 tomatoes, chopped
– 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– Salt to taste

Method

1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
2. Sauté the chopped onion until it becomes golden brown. Mix in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a couple of minutes.
3. Stir in chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
4. Add chicken pieces to the pan. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the chicken starts to brown.
5. Add the gongura leaves and a little water. Cover the pan and simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
