Ingredients
– 2 ½ cups plain flour
– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– ½ teaspoon salt
– ¾ cup brown sugar
– ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 large egg
– ¾ cup molasses
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 175 degrees Celsius and line baking trays with baking paper.
2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
3. Use another bowl to beat the brown sugar and butter until fluffy. Add the egg and molasses, mixing well.
4. Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir until everything is mixed properly.
5. Roll tablespoon-sized balls of dough, place them on the trays, and flatten slightly. Bake for 10-12 minutes, then cool.
