Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 cup sugar
– 1 cup milk
– 1/2 cup vegetable oil
– 1 tablespoon baking powder
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a donut pan by greasing it lightly.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, oil, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Stir until well blended.
4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix gently until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips if using.
5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold halfway. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool and then drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and a little water.
