Ingredients
250 g fresh strawberries, chopped
1 cup sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
Icing sugar for dusting
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease and flour a cake pan.
2. In a large bowl, combine chopped strawberries and sugar. Mix well and let sit for about 10 minutes.
3. Add flour, baking powder, vanilla, salt, softened butter, and eggs to the strawberry mixture. Stir until combined.
4. Slowly pour in the milk and mix until the batter is smooth.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool, then dust with icing sugar before serving.
