Ingredients
– 225 g unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1 egg yolk
– 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
– 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until creamy.
3. Mix in the vanilla extract, egg yolk, flour, baking powder, and salt until combined.
4. Stir in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
5. Roll small balls of dough and place them on the baking tray. Flatten each ball slightly with a fork. Bake for around 12-15 minutes or until golden around the edges.
