Ingredients
– 1 cup black lentils
– 2 tbsp butter
– 1 onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 inch ginger, grated
– 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
– 1 cup cream
– 1 tsp cumin
– 1 tsp garam masala
– Salt to taste
Method
1. Rinse the black lentils in cold water and soak them overnight.
2. In a pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion, cooking until soft.
3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for 2 more minutes.
4. Pour in diced tomatoes, cumin, and salt. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Add soaked lentils and cream, then cook on low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
