Ingredients
250 g fresh cranberries
1 cup port wine
1 cup sugar
1 orange (zest and juice)
1 cinnamon stick
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
Method
Start by rinsing the cranberries under cold water. Combine the cranberries, port wine, sugar, orange zest, orange juice, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, and salt in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat, letting it simmer for about 10 minutes until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth, then stir it into the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until thicker.
