Ingredients
– 300 g fresh cranberries
– 1 cup port wine
– 1 cup water
– 1 cup sugar
– 1 orange (zest and juice)
– 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
– 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
– A pinch of salt
Method
1. Rinse the cranberries and remove any that are damaged.
2. Combine port wine, water, sugar, and orange juice in a saucepan.
3. Stir in the cranberries, orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
4. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes until the cranberries are soft.
5. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla until melted and combined.
