Ingredients
– 500g minced beef
– 1 onion, chopped
– 2 carrots, diced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 400g canned diced tomatoes
– 1 tablespoon tomato paste
– 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
– 4 cups mashed potatoes
– 1 cup frozen peas
– Salt and pepper to taste
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
2. In a large pan, cook the minced beef over medium heat until browned. Stir in the onion, garlic, and carrots, cooking until the vegetables soften.
3. Add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Mix in the peas just before removing from heat.
4. Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes over the top, smoothing it out evenly.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
