Ingredients
– 250 g of plain flour
– 1 tsp baking soda
– 1 tsp ground cloves
– 1 tsp ground cinnamon
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1/2 cup butter, softened
– 1 large egg
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, cloves, and cinnamon.
3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla, then mix well.
4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
5. Roll small balls of dough in your hands, then coat them in granulated sugar. Place them on the baking tray and bake for about 10-12 minutes.
