Ingredients
- 8 cups of stale bread, torn into pieces
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of raisins or mixed dried fruit
- Butter for greasing the baking dish
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- In a large bowl, combine the milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Add the torn bread and dried fruit to the mixture, stirring gently to soak the bread.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and bake for about 45-50 minutes until set and golden.
