Ingredients
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 jar (about 400 g) maraschino cherries, drained
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup heavy cream
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a baking dish, about 23 x 33 cm.
2. In a large bowl, mix together cocoa powder, sugar, flour, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
3. Pour this brownie mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
4. Remove brownies from the oven and let cool. Once cool, place cherries on top of the brownies.
5. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream until warm. Add chocolate chips and stir until melted and smooth. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cherries and let it set.
