Ingredients
400 g canned black beans, drained and rinsed
1 small onion, diced
1 medium carrot, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tblsp chipotle sauce
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
Salt, to taste
Oil, for frying
Method
1. Mash black beans in a large bowl until mostly smooth.
2. Stir in diced onion, grated carrot, and minced garlic.
3. Add cumin, paprika, chipotle sauce, breadcrumbs, and salt. Mix everything together until well combined.
4. Shape the mixture into patties using your hands. Aim for about 6 patties.
5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
